While the title of this post says “affiliate marketing keyword research”, the keywords that you’ll be able to find with this guide can also be used for an ecommerce website or even a Made-for-adsense website. However, the main goal of this guide is to teach you how you can find e-commerce websites which have a low domain authority & low number of backlinks, but are still ranking for some really good buyer keywords which you can steal.
Do note that to be able to follow the steps in this guide you need to have an Ahrefs account.
Step 1
Enter one of the following websites in Aherfs Site explorer, head to the Referring domains page and then export all of the referring domains.
- Shopify.com
- Bigcommerce.com
- 3dcart.com
- Volusion.com
- Squareup.com
- Prestashop.com
- Magento.com
- Woocommerce.com
Most of the referring domains for these eCommerce platforms will be from websites which are using them so you’ll end up with plenty of targets to hit.
Step 2
Once you’ve downloaded all the referring domains, you will have to filter them by DR, Referring Domains & Organic Traffic. You can filter the numbers according to what you think you will be able to beat. For starters, filtering the websites by DR < 20, Referring Domains < 100 and Organic Traffic > 1,000 is a good choice.
That’s it! That’s all you need to follow to be able to churn out an endless list of profitable keywords!
